What you probably want to know most of all is a) do I know what I’m doing and b) what inspires me to work with clients with high anxiety and emotional wounds. To answer the first question, you can read my resume-type stuff in the sections below. To answer the second question, I love working with clients with these struggles because I've been there. I've been stuck living in the cycle of constant worry and overachievement, keeping myself from feeling and others from seeing any emotional wounds at all cost. Avoidance is my favorite defense mechanism, although it took me a while to figure out it was a false sense of safety. I learned that if I feel my feelings and engage my story without occupying myself in some other way, I can heal deeply and live fully —and so can you. Because I've gone through this too, I know the work it takes to get out. I can't change you. You have to participate in your healing and I am thrilled to help support you in that.
Over the last 7 years I have spent much time academically, professionally, and personally learning how to cultivate a presence and space for healing to take place. I continue to be committed to learning and developing as a clinician so my clients can heal deeply and live fully.
In my free time I enjoy going on walks with my dog and trying new yummy foods with my husband. Much of our free time is also spent traveling to Tennessee to visit our family and friends!
I'd love to talk with you more to see if I may be a good fit as your therapist!

My approach is tailored to meet client-specific needs. I typically help clients cultivate self-awareness, identify values, goals, stuck points, and how to engage with their story. I prioritize providing a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their inner world and work towards their desired outcomes. I may use various therapeutic models to help address these needs such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), story work, and a person-centered focus. Faith integration is welcomed upon each client's request.
Throughout my time as a mental health counselor, I hope to join with Christ in the work he is doing in our world and souls. Although I am a Christian, I do not limit my services to only those with the same background. I hope to create a space for clients of all ethnic and faith backgrounds to receive quality mental health care.
I see clients in person at Christian Counseling of North Tampa. Our office is conveniently located near Carrollwood, Lutz, Land O Lakes, and Odessa, FL.
